Frosting & Pants

What a day. Frosting Cookies: My sweet friend Kathleen has taken it upon herself to frost over 400 cookies for a church event. Yes, I said 400. So today I went to help her and learned a new frosting technique. Asking for the name, of the technique may be a little much since I can't remember what it is called, but it dries really smooth -kind of like a glaze look. It's made with Powdered Sugar, Karo Syrup, Water, & tons of Red food coloring & Vanilla.
Anyway the cookies turned out adorable. They are little Red wagons with Oreo wheels & all. I really wish I would have taken my camera, but obviously if I can't remember the simple name of some frosting then how do expect me to remember the camera!?
Pants- I have been wanting to Hem my jeans for sometime now. They are way too long and every time I wear them I Have to wear my tallest boots with them...so today I Hemmed them Myself! My friend Tara taught me how and it took me a while and one broken Sewing Needle; but I Did It and they look Good! I have just amazed myself today. I'm becoming so domesticated. I can't decide if that's good or bad, but I'm happy that I learned two new things today & succeeded at both. And took the car to get the oil changed & went to the beauty supply & ran Whitters to the Dr. as well as got caught up on the DREADED Laundry! I got a lot accomplished, opposed to blog surfing for 4 hours, which I Did Not Do!
All of that on top of the feeling that I might be getting a little sick.

Good Job Abby.... Tara will have to teach me too!! I got my machine for Christmas and have been looking at all these projects that I want to start... but just haven't gotten started yet!! This dumb internet is great for ideas, but bad for time!

Don't get sick before you go to St. George!!!

I have a sewing machine and it's still in the box. You'll have to teach me how to hem - I have to hem every pair of pants that I get.

Wahoo, good job on all the domestication! ;) That always gives me a sense of accomplishment I have to admit. Hopefully you're not getting sick... it's still in the air though! Drink your OJ!

Hemming jeans is tough! You have to have the right needle. I was way nervous the first time I did it since they cost a fortune. Good job! Get some picuters of those cookies!

Is the icing you're thinking of called royal icing? It dries hard?
Wish we lived closer and you could teach me how to sew.
